- Click Book Now on any available room
- Complete the details on the booking form and click the Complete Reservation button to finish
- All done! Natually, we will confirm your reservation by email.

Terms & Conditions
Thank-you for booking with us. Julia and John look forward to welcoming you to Tarn Hows Guest House. When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions.
Prices: The price includes accommodation plus breakfast and all taxes. We accept the following forms of payment: cash, most debit & credit cards.
Deposits: For all bookings we require card details and at our discretion we may take a non-refundable deposit from you which will be equivalent to the first night’s stay.
Room Allocation: From time to time, it may become necessary to change your room allocation to an equivalent standard. (For example, this may be due either to unplanned maintenance or a need to change rooms in order to accommodate a long stay guest).
Visitors: Guests are not permitted to bring visitors into the guest house without informing the proprietors.
Group Bookings: We do not accept bookings for stag or hen parties. For other group bookings, please telephone us to discuss your requirements. It is the responsibility of the person booking group accommodation to ensure that all group members are aware of our terms and conditions and that payment is made to the proprietors in the event of any cancellation or failure to arrive by any member of their group.
Children: At Tarn Hows Guest House we do accept children, but they must be old enough to sleep in their own beds. We do not accept infants as our rooms will not accommodate extra beds/cots.
Pets: We do not accept pets at Tarn Hows Guest House.
Take Away Food: Guests are not permitted to bring take away food into their rooms but may use the dining room by prior arrangement.
Smoking: It is against the law to smoke anywhere on the premises and we ask guests to observe this policy at all times. Anyone thought to be smoking in their room will be asked to leave and will be charged £100.00 for deep cleaning of the fabrics and furnishings in addition to the cost of the rest of your stay. We do not allow E-cigarettes to be smoked anywhere on our premises.
Car Park: Tarn Hows Guest House has 8 car parking spaces solely for the use of their guests cars and these are parked at your own risk. Please park within the white marks. As parking is limited please be considerate to other guests when parking. You may be required to move your car to allow other guests to get their cars out.
Cancellation and Insurance: Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to 14 days before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount should we not be able to re let the accommodation. For this reason you may wish to take out cancellation insurance.
Non-availability: We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was unacceptable to you then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival: Your accommodation will be available to you from 4pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We would appreciate you telephoning to let us know if you are delayed on the day of arrival. Arrivals after 9pm are by prior arrangement only.
Departure: Check out time is 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. No reduction will be made if you choose to cut short your pre-arranged stay. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras or services taken during your stay is payable on departure but can be available at any time during your stay.
Damages and Breakages: Please let us know if anything is broken or not working in your room. Although we accept normal wear and tear, you are liable for any damage or breakages you cause to the accommodation. Please report these as soon as they occur.
Liability: We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Data Protection: Any data gathered during this booking will be held securely.
